 Sprint's HTC's Evo 3-D, which doesn't require special 3-D glasses, and HTC's Evo View 4G tablet will be available June 24. The phone costs $199.99 and the tablet is $399.99, with that pricing for both tied to a two-year contract.
The Evo 3-D, Sprint says, is "America's first ‘glasses-free’ 3D 4G device, and is another in HTC's popular line of Evo phones. The 6-ounce phone has a 4.3-inch display and runs on a 1.2 GHz Snapdragon dual-core processor. It runs on Android's 2.3 (Gingerbread) operating system. The phone has two 5-megapixel cameras, one for 2-D photography and another for 3-D shooting. Its front-facing camera is 1.3-megapixels.
Why would you want 3-D in your phone's camera and video? Sprint gives these examples:

Real estate agents can create and share 3-D virtual tours of homes that let out-of-town buyers “walk through” the house and truly experience the listings before they can see them live.
Dad can feel like he is in the bleachers watching the ball leave the park for a homerun even if he’s forced skip a Little League game because he is stuck at the office.
3-D mapping of terrain will help build new and exciting features for navigation, and hikers will be able to get aerial views of the topography of rivers and mountains while in the backcountry.

If you get the HTC EVO 3D, you'll need to have one of Sprint’s Everything Data plans plus a required $10 Premium Data add-on charge for smartphones. The phone can also provide you with a mobile hot spot for up to eight Wi-Fi-enabled devices. If you want that option, it will cost an additional $29.99 a month.
The HTC Evo View 4G tablet has a 7-inch screen, 1.5 GHz Snapdragon processor and latest version of HTC Sense, used for the touchscreen experience. Like the Evo 3-D, the tablet has Android 2.3 built-in. That version of Android isn't optimized for tablets, but Sprint says when the tablet is launched it will be updated to Android 3.0, also known as Honeycomb, which is specifically made for tablets.
Sprint also says "for a limited time," those who buy the View will get the HTC Scribe digital pen "at no charge." The pen normally costs around $80 by itself.
"HTC EVO View 4G expands on the capabilities of tablets by introducing the digital pen, and allows our consumers to do more than they ever imagined was possible," said Fared Adib, Sprint's senior v-p of product development, in a press release.
Data rate plans for the tablet start at $34.99 a a month for 3 GB of 3G data and unlimited 4G data usage while on the Sprint network, the company says. There are also 3G-only plans available.
Other optional add-on services include GPS Navigation for $2.99 a day, or $10 per month; and the Mobile Hot Spot option for $29.99 a month.
